My snap shot ‘Union Jack Bus’ made it in this years AOP Open Awards. Always good to enter, but always the most random images get chosen every year. No complaints here though….

Scrum on the Beach

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

Shot for The Guardian/Observer Sport Monthly to promote a national event, we managed to get a few frames lying in the the seam at Whitley Bay before the camera just escaped from getting soaked. Unfortunately the shot was never used but I think it’s worthy of a blog entry.

Middlesbrough FC

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

We travelled to Middlesbrough FC training ground in Darlington to shoot some portraits of the players wearing the new kit, to be used as posters and above the entrance at the club. The players were shot to look intimidating as they look down on you as you walk into the ground.

We also got some nice shots of the players running out of the darkness as limited posters.(click to enlarge the full detail of the image)

August 1st saw the opening of The People Show at the Northumbria Unviversity Gallery. My portrait of Muriel was chosen in the show and is hanging proud on the gallery wall.

Here’s the one that never made the cut.

New Tango

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Another Tango shoot. This time underneath an overpass in the middle of the road. After being heckled by the supportive local youth driving past, we managed to get the shot. Thanks again to everyone on another Friday night shoot. Also thanks to the policeman who let us keep shooting.
